The purpose of this study was to verify the assimilation effect by eye shadows and lipsticks on perceptual complexion and to measure the degree. Two face colors and five colors of eye shadow, four colors of lipstick made eighteen standard stimuli of face. Nine comparative stimuli changed their physical redness. Ten participants assessed the perceptual redness of the faces via the method of constant stimuli. As a result, in the condition where the assimilation effect was theoretically not expected, the effect did not appear. Limitation of effect area by eye shadows was again confirmed and the assimilation by red lipstick was equivalent to about 2 a* value in the reddish face.
