Educational effect of furniture development and exhibition planning through industry-university collaboration

Abstract

A report on the collaboration between the Fukuoka･Okawa Furniture Manufacturers Association and the Departments of Design, and Housing and Development, which focused on education that teaches the process of furniture development and sharing it through exhibitions. Student developed their capacity for communication and planning, and learned the sequence of steps in the process of product design. Students were also tasked with planning the exhibitions, and the groups worked together in implementing their ideas, helping to develop their cooperation and leadership skills.
