A consideration of the description of structural mechanics in “The Thinking Eye" of Paul Klee

Abstract

Paul Klee's "The Thinking Eye" published while he was teaching at the Bauhaus and the Dusseldorf Art School, contains summary's and descriptions of many of his thoughts on modeling. In this paper, I focus on the mechanical sketches described in "The Thinking Eye" and reflect on their meaning. I also consider how they fit into the architectural structure design model.
