This paper focused on clarifying the correlation between the results of the typeface impression experiment and visual attributes. Two newly added visual attributes, the gradients of stroke-width and the angle of horizontal stroke were both found correlated with the impression evaluation results, as they are considered to be effective in explaining the visual characteristics of typefaces. Furthermore, the impression ratings of all typefaces were estimated by using the measured values of the visual attributes through this study. Although the accuracy needs to be improved, the speculative approach has proven to be effective.
