The relationship between portable skills and developing a second career

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to present a new model of career development in the age of multiple careers. A difficulty in obtaining multiple jobs is forming a second career. The research question is what processes are effective for early formation of a second career. My hypothesis is that one can effectively form a second career by approaching it from the strength of one’s portable skills. I verified the hypothesis through interviews how those who have already formed multiple careers have done their second careers. As a result, the hypothesis is effective for forming a second career.
