Research on ‘MOKUIKU’ programs to promote learning and interest in wood

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to propose a ‘MOKUIKU’ program that encourages learning and interest in wood by contact with wood through the five senses. In this paper, we analyzed more than 200 examples of 'MOKUIKU' activities conducted in Hokkaido to date in nine categories. The results showed that there are few cases related to the five senses for school-age children. So, we found that we needed a ‘MOKUIKU’ program that uses the five senses appropriate for them.
