Creation and evaluation of a chair that transforms into a desk

Abstract

This paper proposes and examines fixtures suitable for the OpenLab, a hot-desking space introduced at the Shibaura Institute of Technology. Based on the issues identified by the on-site survey, we proposed a fixture that transforms into a desk and a chair under the theme of increasing the flexibility of the space. As a result, the fixtures themselves showed great promise, but some were cautious about their introduction.
