Teaching Materials for Smooth Acceptance of "Permanent Teething"

Abstract

For visually impaired children, the change from baby teeth to permanent teeth is often accompanied by anxiety. Learning to gargle, brush teeth, etc. is also not easy for them. In this paper, we propose four tactile teaching materials to help children understand teeth appropriately, to reduce their anxiety when their teeth fall out, and to improve their health literacy through learning to gargle and brush their teeth. The teaching materials consist of: 1) a picture book for children to learn about teeth, 2) three-dimensional teaching materials for children to learn about tooth shapes and tooth brushing, 3) three-dimensional teaching materials for children to understand how to gargle, and 4) picture books for children to learn about the mechanism of tooth eruption.
