Abstract

The theme of this workshop was the seasonal changes in the appearance of animals living in Hokkaido. Therefore, paper crafts were designed for the Ezo sika deer and the Ezo snow hare. While reproducing the morphological characteristics of each animal, the paper crafts have simple shapes and structures that are easy for elementary school students to make and can be completed in a short period of time. During the workshop, I explained to the participants that the model was formed using these basic shapes. This enabled participants to easily visualize how to assemble the model and how it would look when completed, and both children and adults were observed to be working without hesitation during the assembly process.
