Abstract

This paper is the second report on the inheritance and encouragement of "Chiba Artisan Tools" through industry-axademia collaboration. The artisans rediscovered the commonality of them by themselves and by participating in local events as members of the craftsman of Chiba Artisan Tools, they felt a sense of belong to it. By internally rediscovering their own concepts, a flexible unity was born without bound by stereotypes as an example, they invited a female blacksmith as a fellow member. Chiba Traditional Blacksmiths Association and Chiba University provided an opportunity for the citizen, craftsmen, and studens to interact and with the experience of making things by forge.
