Abstract

This study examines the influence of cuteness and animal-likeness on the perceived intelligence of robots. A survey was conducted with 30 participants, evaluating nine types of robots using a Likert scale. Multiple regression analysis revealed that cuteness positively affects intelligence perception, while animal-likeness shows a negative impact. Additionally, their interaction suggests that strong cuteness reduces the negative influence of animal-likeness on intelligence evaluation. These findings highlight the need for strategic robot design that balances cuteness and animal-likeness for optimal user perception.
