A Case study on the Personality Design and Tangibility of Social Robots

Abstract

This paper presents two key aspects of social robot design: establishing a narrative framework and the effectiveness of physical presence. Through the creation of virtual organisms, it highlights the importance of narrative frameworks in enhancing user engagement. Additionally, physical presence is shown to improve communication by visualizing abstract concepts and fostering trust. Tactile interactions further strengthen the perception of presence, playing a vital role in building emotional connections and enhancing the overall user experience.
