Development of an Integrated Platform for Designing and Creating Entertainment Robots

Abstract

This paper presents a platform for development of social robots to entertain people. In this study, the necessary functions for the platform were identified through multiple analysis methods, then hardware and software incorporating these functions were developed. In the development of software, it was found that the functions such as “enabling easy operation of the robot without requiring knowledge of programming or robot control” were essential and a GUI for intuitive operation was designed. The effectiveness of the platform was assessed by creating and evaluating a robot using the platform.
