Abstract

The author reflects on their own experience of gradually losing the habit of eating breakfast and realizes its complex relationship with health management, income, and living environment. While data from Japan's 2017 National Health and Nutrition Survey shows a high breakfast-skipping rate among young women, interviews revealed deeper issues beyond time constraints. To explore how working women can engage with food, the author conducted self-experiments, interviews, and group bread-making. This paper reports on how these practices shaped new questions and influenced personal and social engagement with food.
