Abstract

Since FY2020, the author has been promoting farming, harvesting, and utilization of native Japanese cotton at the organic farm in Chigasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture. Since FY2022 the author has been participating in the “HOME GROWN Project" of Made-In-Earth, Inc. to spread the seeds of native Japanese cotton. In addition, since FY2023, the cotton fields has been used as a field for seminar exercises on the theme of designing a lifestyle and society in harmony with nature at the Department of Symbiotic Design, Kanto Gakuin University, the author's affiliated institution. This research presentation reflects on five years of multidisciplinary design practices in the field of organic agriculture, which conveys the value of native Japanese cotton.
