Initiated by the Compilation of a School Founding Commemorative History

Abstract

Issues surrounding archives in fashion education are increasingly coming to the fore. The presenter encountered a range of challenges related to the preservation and transmission of materials documenting Sugino Gakuen’s 100-year educational history. These materials include institutional records, school publications, course catalogs, textbooks, garments, photographs, and video footage.

This presentation outlines the basic steps necessary for systematically building an archive that can be preserved and passed on to future generations.
