An Evidence-Based Approach to Research Poster Design Education

A Case Report on Student Conviction and Mindset Transformation

Abstract

This study aims to reduce design uncertainty and support audience-oriented information organization in research poster creation. Informed by the authors’ practical experience, an evidence-based lecture using eye-tracking data and subjective surveys was conducted for 18 participants. Results showed that 88.9% found the method persuasive, successfully redefining design as a functional tool for information transmission rather than mere decoration. These findings suggest that an evidence-based approach effectively facilitates design skill acquisition and mindset transformation.
