Abstract
The design elements that should be considered in the development of a passenger car were complex and had not yet been clarified. The present study attempts to classify and clarify the properties of these complex design elements. Firstly, Three designers identified over 550 design elements in case of recreational vehicle. These elements had been subsequently classified into six categories using the KJ method and MDA similarity analysis. Next, the scattergram of the influence between the elements in each category had been made by the DEMATEL method of the Graph Theory analysis. The synthesize design element table was composed into the six categories and the four layers according to the analysis. The upper layer elements on the table, especially the key elements that influenced to many other elements should be checked in the passenger car design development.
