Abstract

For the expression of feeling of texture with 3D CG, the texture mapping technique has recently been dominant. In this study, we propose an expression technique with particles that can make one feel tactile texture by visualizing invisible objects. Moreover, using the SD method, we have evaluated what influence the technique can have on the human mind. From a factor analysis using the evaluation results obtained, we have clarified the human evaluation structure of the expression for a sense of touch by visualization with particles. The structure consists of two factors, a factor for a feeling of rough and elasticity, a factor for a feeling of moisture. Additionally, using a multiple regression method, we have examined the correlation between the two factors and the motion parameter values of the images visualized, and found that the parameters for the "friction" and "bound coefficient" of invisible objects and the "size" and "quantity" of visualized objects are strongly effective than the "gravity".
