Abstract

The purpose of this study is to consider the artistic characteristics of <Art to Wear > in America from the late sixties to the early eighties. The results of the study are summarized as follows : The significance of <Art to Wear> occurred in response to the industrialization society of the 1960s, initiating a new art concept. Some artistic characteristics of the <Art to Wear> are : 1) Using of handicrafts : like crocheting, hand Dying etc., 2) Using of natural materials : Wool yarn, Natural dying medium etc., 3) Unique art form that is unclassified by traditional art genre, 4) One of the most essential artistic figures is the 「Interactivity」 of the 「Wearability」. It's also an important artistic element in contemporary art.
