Abstract

In this research, we investigate the relationship between the structure of the impressions and the structure of the morphological features of sound using Jew's Harps for the sound sample. We opted to use the quantification method typeⅢ (QMⅢ) to structuralize the morphological features. After that, we used factor analysis on the impressions of the sound. From the QMⅢ, we obtained 3axes that explain the morphological features. In addition,we successfully obtained 3factors that explain the impressions of the sound of the Jew's Harp. After these analyses, we tried to establish the correlation coefficient of these axes and factors. As a result, we recorded a 0.7 positive correlation between the processing technique axis from QMⅢ and the evaluation factor from the factor analysis. Finally, we found that these results show a relationship between the morphological elaborateness and the pleasantness impression of the sound of the Jew's Harp.
