In this research, we investigate the relationship between the structure of the impressions and the structure of the morphological features of sound using Jew's Harps for the sound sample. We opted to use the quantification method typeⅢ (QMⅢ) to structuralize the morphological features. After that, we used factor analysis on the impressions of the sound. From the QMⅢ, we obtained 3axes that explain the morphological features. In addition,we successfully obtained 3factors that explain the impressions of the sound of the Jew's Harp. After these analyses, we tried to establish the correlation coefficient of these axes and factors. As a result, we recorded a 0.7 positive correlation between the processing technique axis from QMⅢ and the evaluation factor from the factor analysis. Finally, we found that these results show a relationship between the morphological elaborateness and the pleasantness impression of the sound of the Jew's Harp.

Creativity and efficiency need not always be viewed as conflicting aspects of design development. Corporate design departments that view design as a business asset place emphasis on seeking effective investment. At the same time, they look for efficient ways to enhance creativity. Although many approaches to design development aim to enhance creativity in solutions research and work involving expanded fields or roles, none offer clear ways to streamline design work or efficiently promote creativity.
The present study describes methods that enhance creativity efficiently in social infrastructure design development. Through this approach, the author obtained useful guidelines for design process improvement and found that reduction in rework enhanced creativity efficiently, thereby improving customer satisfaction. Specific design tasks linked to significant improvements were also identified.

The introduction of care volunteers in senior citizen facilities should be considered an important task as their work is regarded to the solution for the short-staffed problem. This study aims to explore the different care activities, the number and type of those activities which these care volunteers and staff perform. Additionally, surveys were conducted to clarify the effects of the introduction of care volunteers. Results obtained in this study have demonstrated that: 1) Life support in senior citizen has increased as the number of care volunteers also increased. 2) Care volunteer work was mainly performed in common areas of senior citizens facilities. 3) Care volunteers had done their work more stopping than staffs. 4) Care volunteers were working complementarily in the time zone whose activity of the staff decreases. Consequently, although care volunteers are not experts on care issues, their introduction in senior citizen facilities had a significant effect on care.

This paper discusses methods of increasing the efficiency of the design development process. First, in general terms, three patterns for the realization of increased efficiency in creative work were identified: 1) Reducing costs while maintaining quality; 2) Attempting to increase quantitative quality while maintaining or reducing costs; and 3) Attempting to increase qualitative quality while maintaining or reducing costs.
The study focused on 1) Reducing costs while maintaining quality. A method of increasing the efficiency of the design development process was developed based on visualization of the process by means of data. <br>In concrete terms, the method involves four steps: 1) Visualization of the design development process by means of data; 2) Identification of the orientation to be adopted for the realization of increased efficiency and the work to be targeted; 3) Determination of measures to increase efficiency; and 4) Implementation of measures and measurement of their effect.

The chair configurations have been affected by the material and its processing and assembly methods. The objective of this paper is to clarify quantitatively the relationship between chair configurations and dimensions as an index to indicate the elements of chairs. Configuration characteristics are considered to be appeared as dimensions of the chair to analyze. 31 chairs were chosen as the prominent chairs. The following quantities were measured: a straight line length, a curved line length, a fitted rectangle length, a fitted rectangle area, a projected area and a perimeter length in front, side, and plan views, respectively. Those lengths and areas are defined as the chair dimension characteristics. Measured dimensions were analyzed by the cluster analysis. 31 chairs were classified into 8 groups. Belonging to the same group represented a similar configuration. Those characteristic quantities are considered to be indices which can indicate the shape characteristics of the chairs.

In this study, the change of texture was discussed by mixing the different materials as filler in plastics in order to increase the sensitivity value of the plastics. Specifically, the change of texture was tried by mixing the different materials as filler in unsaturated polyester resin. Two types of samples were made, the one was curved shape, and the other was egg-shape. Then, Impression evaluation experiment using them was carried out. As a result, it was confirmed that the characteristics of the filler has a significant impact on the impression. In the case of a curved shape, hard and heavy, and made of denser particles were appreciated. In the case of the egg-shaped, the sample that matches the touch and weight expected from the visual information was appreciated. In addition, it was revealed that the preference depends on the subject and it can be divided into about three groups of subjects.

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of sensitivity in the peripheral visual field with reference to the task difficulty on velocity perception during smooth pursuit eye movement (SPEM) . In the experiment, the velocity of the end points of the comparison stimuli moving from left to right with sine curves tracing on the screen of the PC, were compared to standard stimuli subjectively. The task difficulty was adjusted by the visibility of SPEM with color schemes for the grating pattern and a thickness of sine curve line. We set 2 conditions of grating patterns (colored black/white or gray/white) and 3 condition of thickness of the sine curve line (0.06deg, 0.18deg, 0.36deg) for the comparison stimulus. Sine curves color was black. As a result, velocity perception became significantly faster when color schemes for the grating pattern was gray/white and the thickness of the sine wave curve line was thicker. These results indicate that the velocity perception depended on the visibility of the target movement during SPEM.

This study is about the sense of touch and its relation to communication between a parent and a child. I revealed the role of touch in an infant's growth, based on the psychological and pedagogical effort.
As a result, we promoted "the KAN-GU project" which focuses on touch, and considered it through observation and questionnaire survey. Parent and child interaction developed into possible image-sharing play, and the tendency to communicate verbally increased. "KAN-GU" was able to identify exploratory behavior as concatenation of the play. The effect of emergence of outdoor play triggered by the sense of touch confirmed this. Based on these results, "KAN-GU" is effective in promoting communication between parent and child and was suggested as a tool to promote exploratory behavior by the tactile unit.

Tin crafts in Taiwan were brought by the Mainland Han Chinese immigrants who moved to Taiwan for settlement. This project intends to conduct a thorough survey of the existing tin craft studios in Taiwan. The survey reveals a clear trajectory as to how tin craftsmanship was passed down to the next generation of artisans in Taiwan. This research also conveys three major findings. 1) The Taiwanese mainstream tin style was heavily influenced by the tin arts of Fuzhou and Quanzhou. 2) Those tin shops in northern Taiwan were all shut down by now. There are some remaining shops and tin artisans in central and southern Taiwan, but the numbers are declining. 3) Some few tin artisans take the tin arts as their family heritage. They work hard to shed the stereotypical idea that tin arts are old-fashioned and strive hard to develop newer and more modern art styles.

In this research, we investigate the difference in sound and form between the Russian jew's harp called "Khomus" and the Italian jew's harp called "Marranzanu". We tried to compare the two jew's harps from the perspective of form features, acoustic features and cultural features. As a result, we found signature differences in the treatments of their edge processing.
In addition, we found some characteristic differences of frequency structures by the Autocorrelation Function (AFC) and the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT). We focused on the structure of frequency components of the jew's harp's sound. From the comparison we found that one side has an odd-harmonic, and another has an integral-harmonic. In conclusion, it's fair to assume that the cultural background of the jew's harp has affected aspects of its form and sound.

The Tin crafts were brought to Taiwan by immigrants from Mainland Han Chinese over two centuries ago. However, there are almost no records documenting the development, design characteristics, and production techniques of Taiwan's traditional tinwork industry. This is mainly because the trade is handed down within a small number of clans which are reluctant to let their manufacturing techniques become widely known. Fortunately, while conducting this research I was able to gain the confidence and cooperation of a number of traditional tin workers who provided detailed information about their crafts. In light of the findings, I make three proposals for the future development of Taiwan's tinware industry: 1) continue to focus on designs which reflect traditional Chinese culture; 2) design products which are used in daily life; and 3) support efforts to document and publicize traditional tin craftsmanship.

"Future history" is one of the study technique to consider the state of the future technology and public opinion. Among them, this analyzes an SF work in that by a variety of evaluation axes and shows a thing archiving technology and an opinion about the society. It is difficult for the present society to solve a problem of the technology only by technology. And present-day society is the situation by which we have to shoulder risk about technology. "Sociological imagination" which considers a social affair as my affair is important to us by such situation. At first, I analyze the "Critical design" that considers the state of the future technology by the design and sociological imagination in Japan in this paper. I describe Future history, which is one possibility of Critical design using Japanese imagination based on this analysis.
