Abstract

The city development workshop (hereinafter city development WS) is an effective method for reflecting the participants' opinions and advancing collaborative work. As the city development WS usually runs by face-to-face communication, a communication of information and spatial cognition are need to be supported. For that reason, limitation of time and place occurs. We developed a supporting system of largescale consensus building, and conducted non-face-to-face WS using the system. It solved problems of limitation on time and place. However, there is a problem in supporting information and spatial cognition.
Therefore, this research proposes a method which combines Non-face-to-face WS after face-to-face WS in city development WS. The proposed method was verified by social experiments. Landowners, inhabitants, and students were participated the social experiments, by way of Non-face-to-face WS after face-to-face WS. Discussion arisen on face-to-face WS and non-face-to-face WS was analyzed by word extraction. By the proposed method, number of words used on discussion was increased, which means the method had effect on enlarging territory of discussion. Moreover, the method was positively evaluated on psychological evaluation.
