Abstract
Science education has been considered as one of the most important courses in prlmary and secondary schooIs in many countries.Taiwan is no exception.The present paper is an introduction of science education in Taiwan.The description of science education was based on the nine-year curriculum refbrm in 2000 and currently the twelve-year curriculum refbrm.Information sources were from the documents of Ministry of Education,and the interviews with school teachers,as well as the long term observation of authors in prlmary and junior high schools.This paper describes the characteristics of science education in both primary school level and junior high school level in Taiwan.AIso,this paper mentions the problems of science education tha twe faced in Taiwan.
