This treatise is on the air-penetrability of Japanese-paper. It is closely connected with the aperturearea, which, on the paper of the same thickness, can be considered to be proportional to the size of the raw-fibre. Therefore, the air-penetrability is found larger in Kozo-paper than inGampi-paper, when the two are compared.
Further, Kozo-paper mixed with wood-pulp has the largest one.
Thus, the air-penetrability gets larger in such order as : Gampi-, Kozo-, Kozo-woodpulp-paper.
By the way, the air-penetrability compared with that of European-paper, is generally larger, Wherein exists the remarkable weakness of Japanese-paper.
