Coagulative sedimentation and floatation are applied to the white water treatment for the purpose of the recycle of raw materials and the reduction of the suspended solids. Filtration is needed to get the water containing less suspended solids.
Multi-media filtration is very effective, because the suspended solids of white water consists of short fiber and inorganic materials.
Proper media size and depth must be decided especially in consideration of effluent quality and the interval of backwashing.
