This report concerns applications of cooking reaction rate equations developed from the data based on 3n typed orthogonal arrays to some cases of kraft pulping. First, the correlation of mill chip thickness with hand made chip thickness was determined by cooking experiments and the corresponding calculations. Second, the optimum cooking conditions were discussed to be expected increasing carbohydrate yield. In one case, taking the selectivity coefficient as a parameter, (CH.)-(T. L.), the best condition for each variable was proved. In another case, taking the ratio of decarbohydrate rate to delignification rate, VcH./VT. L., some interesting trends for cooking conditions were obtained. Two Temperature cooking and Injection cooking were verified as profitable methods in increasing carbohydrate yield. Third, it was pointed out that the deviation of chip thickness in mill chips must be the cause in decreasing carbohydrate yield.
