This study was carried out for selecting winder drums having the most suitable surface for paper winding process. Higher friction coefficient between the winder surface and paper is required. In this paper, thermally sprayed WC-Co coating are compared with the conventional Mo ones. Our results showed that the winder surface prepared by WC-Co coatings is superior to the conventional ones in terms of friction coefficient, erosion resistanat and smoothness.
