The preparation of nanofiber from the conducting polymer polypyrrole alone by electrospinning methods could not be effected, but the fabrication of nanofiber can be done successfully by blending meta-Aramid (m-Aramid) with polypyrrole. The fiber diameter of the fabricated nanofiber was approximately 300nm. The structure of the nanofiber could be controlled by varying the revolution of the target drum during electrospinning. The cast film of the polypyrrole and meta-Aramid blend polymer was in a uniform single-phase state, but dual-phase nanofiber, on which polypyrrole significantly condensed in the vicinity of the nanofiber surface, was successfully fabricated through the spinning of nanofiber by electrospinning. The revolution speed of the target drum was increased, the higher the conductivity possessed by the nanofiber. The conducting nanofiber obtained in this research provides hope for its use and exploitation in electromagnetic shielding for which flexibility is required and antistatic material.
