Abstract
This is the first study on precondylar tubercle and anteromedian marginal process around the foramen magnum regarding their shapes and incidences in crania of modern Midwest-Kyushuites. In males the precondylar tubercles tend to be smaller, but more frequent than those of Oceanic groups, American-Whites and-Negroes. The anteromedian marginal process, studied for the first time by the author, may be attributed to ossification within the apical ligament during adult life. In females, enough materials were not used to arrive at a suitable conclusion.
