Abstract
This is a study on the making panel paintings of Nishinomaru Palace in Tenpo eras and Honmaru Palace in Koka eras, Edo Castle through Diary of office by Kano Seisen'in, official painter. The results are as follows. (1)The order of making panel paintings was stepl proposal the theme of room, step2 drawing preliminary paintings (“ukagaishitae”) , and step3 drawing panel paintings. (2)The panel paintings were made at the “oneshitatetokoro” in Kano Seisen'in house, Kobikicho. (3)Painters realized architectures of Edo Palace through plans and “okoshiezu” to draw preliminary paintings.
