Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate the causes of failure of the Amsterdam Bijlmermeer High-rise housing project and to clarify the total picture of the characteristics of the revitalization program. An adopted integrated approach in the program which is different from traditional methods is a comprehensive and sophisticated one in both software and hardware way of renewal. Now the authority evaluated the program so far is rather successful. In this study we concluded the integrated approach is much suitable for local characteristics than other two kinds of renewal method in its effectiveness and comprehensiveness.
