Abstract

This study is aiming to consider an effective approach to reactivate the community by utilizing the local culture. We have been caring out two projects in typical dense cities, examining the usage of local culture; “Machi-no-le”, and “Tsurumi-Studio”. We analyzed their processes and result from the view points of “Cultural Policy” and “Vitalization into Space”. Elements such as “Nagaya”, “restaurant”, “public space” and “social capital” are found out to be resources, and in order to manage them in cultural policies, “Comprehensibility of Space” turned out to be an important factor.
