Establishing a　housing building system with reused materials and components

Abstract

It is said that the usage period of residential in Japan is shorter than that of Western countries. This means that demolitions are quite often performed to build new houses. The demolition creates a lot of waste that cannot be readily reprocessed. Building materials and components can be recycled and reused to mitigate this problem; however a recycling system has not yet been established. The purpose of this study is to establish a reuse system for building materials and components. To achieve the purpose we performed an experimental construction with used materials and components which are used for plumbing area in a house. The paper addresses preparation of used materials and components, and then describes results of an experimental construction.
