Abstract

In this study, we clarified the characteristics of renewal projects and residents in the early large scale housing developments in Japan. Kozoji new town which is one of these housing developments was developed after 1965. This new town has been practiced the renewal projects to practical use of original housings. So we studied the situation of vacant houses and the characteristics of residents separated the individual districts, and we also tried to classify the housing relocated families in this new town. Finally, we readjusted about the renewal problems and we indicated the possibility to take a new turn of the large scale housing developments.
