Abstract

This study aims to show the actual spread of mud-walled town houses in these areas and the relation between their plans and designs, and the way to be introduced. Mud-walled town houses are said to diffused from Tokyo to other areas, however they were built by the fire prevention policy in Matsumoto, as well as innovated their own style from the native ones in Shimoda. Even if they were influenced by Tokyo, their styles were varied as their models in Tokyo differed in the times.
