Abstract
We devised a extension plate for pelvic stenosis and applied to 6 cats with severe chronic constipation due to pelvic stenosis. The plate is made of stainless steel with a 1.2 mm thickness, a 27 mm length, and a 16 or 18 mm width. This plate was placed and fixed at the symphysis pelvina using 6 wirings. This procedure extended the pelvic cavity as much as 12-14mm in width. A few days after the surgery, all the patients showed voluntary defecation with subsequent improvement of severe chronic constipation.
