A 7-year-old Shepherd dog weighing 36.1 kg showing hematuria, recurrent fever, anorexia and vomiting, was found to have the large cystic right kidney by palpation, scout roentgenography, intravenous pyelography and ultrasonography. The right kidney weighing 1, 850g was excised by flank approach, and the patient survived for 14 months after operation without any clinical abnormalities. Histopathological diagnosis was renal cystic adenoma and no bacteria were detected from the cyst fluid by aerobic and anaerobic cultures.
