Abstract
11 cases of inclusion body hepatitis occurring at 6 pigeon houses in Kanto district, basophilic intranuclear inclusions were detected in hepatocytes as well as pancreatic, gizzard, intestinal and renal epithelial cells, hepatocytes had also eosinophilic intranuclear inclusions. Ultrastructurally, the hepatocyte inclusions contained adenovirus-like particles, and virus antigen was detectable by immunohistochemistry.
