Abstract
Sarcosystis sp. was detected from the heart and diaphragm of 3 out of 200 cattle slaughtered in Saitama Prefecture. Cysts were 1, 220-2, 432×80-124μm in size and had the radially striated wall 3 to 4μm thick, provided with palisade-like villar protrusions 3.1-4.3×0.7-1.1μm in size with many inside microtubles. After feeding with 20 fresh cysts, dogs nor domestic cats excreted no oocysts nor sprorocysts in the feces for 30 days.
