Recent progress in bioimage informatics techniques enables us to extract quantitative biological dynamics data from microscopy images. Visualization of spatiotemporal dynamics of biological objects such as molecules, organelle, and cells provide us an opportunity to gain new insights into biological systems. In this paper, we first report an open format that we developed, named BDML (Biological Dynamics Markup Language), for representing spatiotemporal dynamics of biological objects ranging from molecules, cells, and organisms. We next report our current status of visualization of quantitative biological dynamics data based on BDML and beyond. Lastly, we discuss expected contribution and future direction of visualization studies to the field of bioimage informatics.
