The electrolytic precipitation method is applied to shear flow analysis separated from a circular cylinder subject to a uniform two-dimensional flow at Reynolds numbers around 100. The electrode is a thin tin plate inset axially into the cylinder made of acrylic plastic. This produces a point source of deposit streaks in the fluid. The position of the electrode is rotated around the separation point with every experiment and a detailed investigation is made with the change in streak development in this vicinity.
