In oder to investigate the process of the flow field formation around projectiles, several cylindrical modeles were launched in the atmosphere by a single stage light gas range and flow visualizations were conducted by the Schlieren method with a Xenon flash light source.
Several interesting phenomena on the shock wave formation around the model were observed.
