A flow visualization/digital image processing technique is developed to derive the steady flow field from photographs of streaklines. This technique consists of standardization of coordinates on photographs, identification of streakline, recognition of top of the streakline contour and prediction of velocity vectors on grid points, and is applied to two dimensional laminar flow around a car model.
