The purpose of the present paper is to study the characteristics of flow in the respiratory network. The gas transport in respiratory network is performed efficiently due to the secondary flow which occurs in dividing and combining junctions. So, this secondary flow is visualized in steady water flow by using Dye Injection Method.
In dividing junction, a pair of secondary vortices is formed in the daughter tubes, like as the flow in a curved tube. And in the combining junction, as the flow moves into the parent tube turning a corner, the fluid particles move downstream in the parent tube on two helical paths, and two pairs of secondary vortices are formed.
