This paper summarizes a series of our works on active heat transfer contorol by a vibrating elastic plate. The size of vibrating cantilever plates examined were ranging from 26μm×1.7mm×8.0mm to 28μm×20mm×99mm. Velocity profiles measured by LDV and temperture fields obtained by Mach-Zehnder interferometer are shown. A numerical prediction method named Elastic Mesh Generation Method(EMG method) which is effective predicting the flow and temperature fields around the vibrating plates has been developed, and the velocity vector and the pressure contour results obtained are shown to visualize well the detail of the flow fields.
