Infrared thermography is the technology for measuring temperature distribution on material surface in a non-contact manner. It has been applied in a variety of fields in industry, but its propagation in Japan seems to be late compared to USA and Europe. Recently it has become spread in the field of health monitoring for nondestructive testing (NDT), and diagnosis of inside and surface defects such as construction building and materials, mines, railroad, highway, bridge, tunnel, etc. caused by environmental pollution such as air, water, noise, vibration and so on. This paper clarifies about possibilities of environmental instrumentations for bonfire in a mountain, cable tower on a top of mountain, buildings, highway, channel etc. by using infrared thermography.
