Abstract

The friction force of a monolayer MoS2 on graphite was measured by sliding MoS2 islands with an atomic force microscope. Examining the change of the friction force depending on the area of MoS2 under the same conditions, it was found that the larger the contact area of MoS2, the larger the friction force was.
