Propagation control of surface plasmon waves by metal nano-structures

Abstract

Spatial regulations of the flow of surface plasmon waves are realized by using waveguiding structures or band-engineering concepts based on plasmonic crystals. Frequency filtering of surface plasmon waves are achieved by forming nano-scale cavities on metal films. Based on time-resolved imaging techniques and numerical simulations of electromagnetic fields, this paper will discuss the control of surface plasmon waves by using artificial nano-structures.
