Load dependence of friction of C₆₀/graphene interface

Abstract

Nano- and micromachines have a problem that they cannot work well due to the effect of friction and adhesion at nano- and microscale. In order to solve this problem, we succeeded in development of the system comprised of C₆₀/graphene interface superlubricity of which has been observed experimentally and theoretically. In this study, we discussed the relationship between its unique load dependence of friction and the mechanics of intercalated C₆₀ molecule.
